By now, you’ve probably seen Nike’s new ad featuring former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The advertisement is a black-and-white photo of the football star with the words, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” The athlete was widely talked about after he took a knee during the National Anthem to protest police brutality against African Americans, which inspired many other players in the sport to do the same.

But, like everything else, the internet somehow found a way to make light of the powerful situation by turning the ad into a meme. Essentially, people have taken the advertisement and put their own spin on it by including celebrities, dogs and characters from TV shows and movies with their own hilarious slogans.
